I personally think we should do double elimination instead of a mini season.... A lot of us have other teams we are scrimming with to prepare for next season so I think we should probably do whatever is quickest and involves the least amount of headache

I think this might be best as well. IF the tournament turns out to be a success then the second one could be done up a lot better and maybe a mini season format. All depends on this one though.

Look dudes my whole gripe with the backup idea is this: team captains will inevitably be from the upper echelons of the competitive scene and will invariably choose teammates that they are familiar with. This could result in lesser-known players getting benched not because they deserve to be but because they don't have a reputation in the community. That isn't fair to them at all.

I understand that not everyone will be able to play--that's how the world works. But don't let a lot of people get screwed out of playing just because they aren't in invite.

The way it's going to work is teams will be forced to pick up players they don't necessarily know anyway. That's ONE of the points of the tournament to get players associated with one another when they normally wouldn't have. Don't worry just be ready to play!

Florida is looking pretty buff. Probably going to have to merge FL and GA though and make 2 teams out of it since GA only has 2 players registered. Florida is so deep though both teams will be good.

Texas is close to 12 people(it's 11 people right now) Would it be alright if by the end of registration and only 12 make it in from TX we have 2 seperate teams? I think Loronix would be a good leader for one of the teams.

Yes, especially if CO stays with only 2 people we're going to merge the 2 states. 7 each team. That's what's gonna happen with a lot of the teams.

As far as captains go, this is what i've been brainstorming up so far..

Captains:

CA: vhalin, weeble, decimate, and sash.
NJ: clockwork, bigac
NY: tragic, Rick
Ontario: grillz, tri
PA: boulder, namlay
British Colombia/Saskatchewan/Quebec merged captains: blaze, heero

VERY glad that I won't have to captain as a medic, since I honestly don't know half of the people signed up for CA (and dislike captaining). Looking forward to playing though :)
