We trialed him last night. Overall, I think he's got a bright future as the DM, attitude, and communication are there. A weakness that I saw was a propensity to dive into fights he can't win far too often - but one good season in ESEA will surely fix that (I don't think it's a disqualifying weakness). He would often make a good call, but then spoil it by responding in a bad way. He'll get it quickly, though.

The next step (in my jaded, meaningless opinion) for him as player is to watch a ton of demos of scouts to see what positions in badlands work when holding spire/last - and which ones just don't. Once he improves his decision making in that regard, I would then say he could take a look at the timing of his flanking moves (which were way off at times last night).

Last night, we played about 4 teams that were outright better than us - but he never gave in and got negative (which a LOT of other people - including some of our trialers - would have done). To me, that's a sign of a player that has the heart necessary to really improve in the coming seasons.

There is a decent chance we're picking him up, but if we don't I'm rooting for the guy to crack some games on a decent open team.

+1.

i'm currently teamless and looking for an esea open team to pick me up for the remainder of season 11. i main scout (passive) and i'm comfortable off-classing.

I played the first half of the season for the louche bags in esea open but things didn't work out. To put it simply, the lack of experience on the roster lagged the building process. I'm fairly new to the 6s scene w/ just a half a season in open so i'm looking for a somewhat experienced team (mid-open) who will take me under their wing and help me improve my game. Then i hope to return the favor by being an asset to the team :D I feel i have decent DM and a good grasp on how to play the game, i just need someone to slap me on the wrist every now and then.

tl:dr pick me up i play scout

add me if you have any questions or want to try me out!

I dealt with crossfire recently when my team was looking for a scout. I would probably have given the spot to him were it not for an old friend of the team coming back and taking the scout spot at the same time that I put up my looking thread.

We tested his DM and found it to be quite solid. Though we didn't get a chance to actually scrim with him (apologies, again) I did enjoy having him in our mumble. He was very chill, detail oriented, and was smart and understanding of the various things we talked about. Very cool guy.

Pick this dude up on scout.

So I got to play some scrims as well as matches with crossfire. Though I haven't had the opportunity to spend a lot of time to get used to the way crossfire plays and he hasn't had time to really mesh with our team in that same way, I feel that his gamesense is indeed there. If he can get on a steady team he will make you very happy with his scout work and get better and better.

This dude needs a team!

Cross is an awesome scout, great DM and gamesense. He also knows a lot about 6s and is a good pick up.
