My MX518 is dying I think (KEY INDICATORS BEING IT TURNING OFF AT RANDOM) so I'm shopping. I've had this thing for 6+ years so I haven't been keeping up on what mice will be awful.
So far I've got recommendations for G400/500, deathadder, and intellimouse. What are some other options and what should I avoid?

Avoid Razer.
GET A NEW MX518.
Personally, I'm waiting to see what SteelSeries' take on the IME is going to be. (Still on my MX518) |

Zowie EC-1 and EC-2 are pretty good too, the first having the IME 3.0 shape and the second having the 1.1 shape. |

for claw grip you can't beat the CM Storm spawn right now. Super low lift off, great sensor and it's nice and light. |

There are legitimately no good mice, you just get whatever is comfortable. Every single mouse is plagued with some problem whether it be prediction, acceleration, low dpi, jittering or incompatibility. The least problematic sensors are probably the ones in the Microsoft mice, followed by whatever sensor the death adder 3.5g uses. |

If you have money get a Deathadder. If you are a cheap bastard get an intellimouse. Personally I like the 3.0 because the other ones were meant for people with baby hands.

I use a death adder and so do a lot of my friends, I personally have found no problem with it and my friends always have good things to say about it, I would definitely recommend it |

I used to have a G5, switched to a Xai when the G5 wasn't looking so new. The Xai died after 3 months, M1 stopped working during a scrim. Then I got an Intellimouse, I killed that in about a month, again, M1 stopped working on me. It was literally one day past the return policy when it died. Now I have a G500, but, the G5 still works fine. I'll probably stick to Logitech for a while as they seem to make the only product that I don't break. |

I use a G9. The original one, not the G9x. I claw, and it's fantastic for that type of grip. It's also survived multiple... um... trips... across my office. Logitech has even replaced the pads AND the shell grip on it for me, out of warranty for both as well. Great product and great support... plus I like being able to quickly switch from 3200 DPI down to like 1800 with 600 vertical when I play sniper (because I'm so good). |

good mice ive used 3.0- no prediction /400 dpi
i used an aybssus, that thing was jittery as fuck
most mice are honestly decent depending on your sensitivity. Accel and jitter are the two things that are bad. Jitter being the worse. another thing is lift off distance, that's a big one for me. I cant play with mice that have high lift off distance. everything is kinda ya know, Can ya hit the fucker fine? Using mico now with pretty decent sense and no accel. M.I.X. the crack into the bowl |

i love my abyssus but it seems really inconsistent whether you get one that doesnt jitter and lasts for years like mine or one that's total garbage, i dunno if i had to buy a new mouse i'd just get a 1.1 since you really can't go wrong with that, though you might want to get some nice mousefeet for it |

I just recently bought a Zowie Mico, I haven't used it yet. It doesn't need any software and doesn't have much wrong with it. It is small and lightweight so if you grip your mouse with your fingers / claw grip it is perfect. |

MX518 is pretty much the best mouse ever, if the G400 is just an updated version then get that |
