I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to change genders either. From what ive heard it sounds like some people are born with the mind of a man/woman in the wrong body.
Going as far as to do surgery or take pills is pretty weird thing to do in my opinion but its not my place to judge.

I starts bothering me when they don't know what to keep to themselves.
everyone doesn't want to hear about yout sex life, what you like, or how you feel regardless of your orientation.
We get it, you don't feel like you should be a man or a woman. Please don't go into the details, we didn't ask for any.

I feel the same about gay guys, great you like dudes. Stop reminding me every 3 minutes. I hate seeing pictures from pride parades and seeing guys wearing bondage suits or just doing stupid fetish stuff out in public. It's disgusting and makes everyone look awful, keep that type of crap to yourself

PLEASE RESPOND

I was bullied and got called a faggot by a group of kids in high school. So people just casually saying faggot and gay used to bother me a few years ago, but I've largely gotten over it at this point. I wouldn't say it ever offended me but hearing faggot and being reminded of all that shit made me feel uncomfortable. Like remembering an embarrassing memory. But that's high school and eventually you realize that none of it really matters.

I think I told my team once to tone down the faggot usage (because it got pretty excessive), but it wasn't I something cared about that much.

Just started reading this thread, and the lack of hate makes me proud.

In regards to transgender people, a co-worker of mine was talking about how he didn't understand it because he felt that people should be happy with their bodies. Well, Male and Female minds are different, getting a sex change operation is comparable to someone born without a limb getting a prosthetic. They honestly feel like they were born wrong, and won't be happy until they have been fixed.

It's actually pretty rad that we can help people out who have serious issues about being born the wrong gender.

I'm bi, which is something I don't normally tell people unless it comes up or I have to. However, I felt like posting that here because it's become apparent that a lot of people (not necessarily on this site) don't actually think bisexuals exist.

Even among the gay community there are people who think that they're either in denial or attention whores. Don't get me wrong; plenty of people who claim to be bi do fit those descriptions, but that doesn't mean everyone does or even a majority do.

Anyway I'm always open to talk if anyone wants to add me on steam.

I watched this video a while back and had to think for a while to remember it, but its relevant here.

#133 I would have to disagree with that guys opinion, a long time ago like during the Roman era etc, people were more free and exhibited what we'd call bisexual behavior pretty often I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) and weren't afraid to express sexuality. A lot of science fiction in the future also typically displays alien races or even humanity as primarily bisexuals. I would argue that bisexuality seems like a phase because the modern standard of society is strict monogamy, for most people you eventually have to choose between sticking with a guy or sticking with a girl, and eventually you are going to drift away from liking the other gender as equally because of your feelings or love for the other person. In a society where people aren't shunned as much for expressing their sexuality and are open to sexual relationships with multiple people like three ways etc, bisexuality would not seem so odd or like a phase, as bisexuals would have more opportunities to express their attraction towards both genders etc. The proliferation of modern religion (especially in America where you're a looney in a ton of places if you talk about sex in any open way) has also helped contribute to bisexuality seeming like a phase and/or weird, just like it did homosexuality when a long long time ago there was nothing weird about homosexuality at all.

I guess you didn't understand what I meant when I said "Stop reminding me every 3 minutes" or "don't go into the details"

Seeing that this is the one and only thread I will make about this topic I am sure you won't hear about it again. What I am talking about is people that feel the need to constantly remind people of their orientation regardless of what the topic at hand is and when no one asked.
I made this thread for people that have an interest in the topic and I did not force the topic into someone else's thread. Considering that this is the only thread on NATF2 about this topic I'm sure people aren't saying "Oh great another gay thread"
In addition there are no overly detailed and inappropriate posts about dicks or anything of the nature I was referring to in my previous post. So what exactly is the problem?

I thought that post was pretty clear beforehand but I guess you have to be extra specific with mustardoverlord

the point of pride is that gay people still have a hard time feeling comfortable with "normal" gay activities while in public (hand holding, kissing)

straight people can do that stuff without anyone even batting an eye, gay people do it in a lot of places and they're going to get weird looks

pride is about going overboard in the other direction to just expose people to the fact that its there and not going away and trying to make people get used to the idea that gay people are a fact of life

im not sure if its the most effective approach but thats what its about anyway

same kind of idea as slutwalks using a hyperbolic message to try to gain exposure/acceptance

I still think some people go way too far with what they do during the events but at least there is some logic behind it for me to think about

yea im sure there are a lot of people who attend the parades just to go crazy, and like i said i personally am unconvinced it's the best way to go about things since it does cause some negative backlash

but that's at least the sentiment that pride parades are rooted in

my point was:

it seems like you object to pride parades and related gestures because all the blatantly public expressions of sexuality foster the stereotype that gays are "more sexual" and connects the identity of people too much to their sexuality, all in all creating more negative effects than positive effects.

well, internet forums are a public platform, and I don't see how discussions of sexuality here are any different than they are in public.

please don't misinterpret me and think that I have anything against all public expressions of sexuality or sexual orientation because I don't, I just don't see how you can be against the notion of gay pride parades and not a topic like this.

I'm glad you decided to insult my intelligence at the end with an ad hominem attack though, cute.

It's pretty hard to find the true underlying meaning and point of a 6 word post on an internet forum.

i have no problem with someone being gay/lesbian but it really bothers me when they try to bring it up at any chance given, and make sure everyone knows about it. and the worst is how they believe so strongly in equality for gays, yet they are their own reason for standing out, and being "less equal".

before this post gets any rage, keep in mind he's talking about the select few that actually do try to bring it up whenever they can
