I've read some articles, but I know there are a lot of computer savvy people on these forums, so I'd like some input.

When I enter my BIOS, my core temp is around 60C, which is retardedly high.
Entering windows, it stabilizes at around 45-53C, which is also pretty high?

I'm not exactly sure what could be wrong, and I'm not the best with computers either, so thanks in advance.

Depends on which CPU you have. What is it?

Those temps should work for awhile, but you might want to think of upgrading to a better fan or heatsink. Might I suggest my extremely overkill fan:

Or you could get this highly effective and much cheaper HSF.

I run the previous model with my i7 2600 and I idle with one fan at 27-31C and my brother runs two fans on his 2500k clocked at 3.7GHz idles at 22-24C

As long as it stays below 80C you're completely fine.

Heck, as long as it's below 85C you're completely fine.

If you really are worried about it run some multithreaded CPU benchmarks (so that you get 100% utilization) and watch your temperatures.

Those temps are actually pretty high. Even with a decent $20 HSF I got 60C full load while pushing arguably dangerous voltages. What kind of case do you have?
