I remember back when I thought that the black box was God's gift to man and that the direct hit was overpowered because it did so much damage. I purposely "gimped" my self by using the vanilla launcher because I thought I'd get better doing so (genius move when I think back at it).

I remember way back when I scored my record for longest life for like 20 minutes as engineer on 2Fort. I was sitting there watching my sentry THE WHOLE TIME. Put my sentry right in that drop down room above the fort entrance hoping it would get some kills through the hole.

Got pissed because this one soldier was wrecking my shit in a pub and checked his profile to see he literally had 1000 hours on soldier alone. Said that would be me one day. I'm at about 750 hours on soldier now. Few unrecorded hours on top of that.

I remember when the sniper update came out and I instantly thought the huntsman was easy as fuck. Like I immediately noticed how often I got headshots even though I clearly missed.

If anyone was dominating me I used to go to their profiles to look up how many hours they had on their class

I'm still a noob.

But I can honestly say the most fun I've had in TF2 was when I just started (exploring all the different classes and what they do), and when playing 6v6.

I also used to think Spy was awesome, and went as far as joining that joke of a community ESG. Now I regret all the hours I spent on that dumb class.

I remember when I thought the best way to deal with snipers was to run directly at them, to minimize the amount of time they'd have to line up a shot. I make a few appearances in some frag vids being a complete idiot.

I remember playing medic and leaching on the the best player on your team and yelling at the other medics because I was already healing them. Gawd stop stealing my assists. Thats the story of how I met rando, on a lovely day in Lotus Clan.

I remembered when I first literally wanted to play, I'd create a server thinking people would join it. Didn't work of course haha. Then in my first few hours of TF2 I played soldier and demoman and I thought they were useless, then I learned to shoot the ground, spam some stuff, and most importantly, aim.

I thought spy had the highest skill ceiling and proceeded to invest 600 hours into it in a 24/7 2fort server

lol method. I remember whenever I was playing on 2fort, there would be 4-5 damn engineers in our sewers setting shit up. i would try so hard to destroy them all by barely peeking around the corner so i can shoot them but they couldn't shoot me.

or even those times when my team was being forced to stay on our side of the map because of the 20 sentries on bridge and spamming down from battlements. good times

I used to literally just sit on an engis dispenser for 5 minutes waiting for them to have an opening

My first time playing demo was on gravelpit attacking c. The medic ubers me and I proceed to try and kill a sentry with pipes, missing all of them. I did not know what a sticky launcher was. The medic called me a worthless faggot and quit

At first i would just sit around in dustbowl servers playing heavy for hours. I eventually got a little bit better after finding the drunken brawl where I Got airshot by volt like 10 million times. Also got destroyed by ghos7yama and 38$pecial quite often there. My friends and I called him 38 stickies. I was so mad at videogames.

I remember my first 6v6 scrim. We got yelled at because we didn't know we were supposed to disable crits/spread. I think aristotle and panzer were on the other team?

Friend bought me the game, so I downloaded it and launched it. My brother was standing behind me watching. I join a fastlane server, spawn scout, and run bottom left from spawn and see and enemy soldier. I miss 6 shots, and he misses 4 rockets, and then he ends up killing me. My brother says "wow dude, you suck"

NO HELLRAZR I BELEIVE YOU SUCK

I also used to think Scout was really bad.

I saw some of the competitive frag vids around the time of the Scout update and was amazed.

e:
I think it was mostly coz back then there was no damage text, random damage spread on pubs was much higher, and the mechanics of the game weren't as figured out. I actually didn't realize until I saw some of those vids that Scouts could 2 hit most of the classes.
