Yes. Jazz is awesome, particularly the old stuff. I can do without a lot of the modern technical wanking which lacks soul, but there's some great stuff these days, too.

Years ago I bought some new headphones, and Jimmy Smith's Organ Grinder Swing on CD... On the bus ride home I was fucking grooving along, and wondered who the bass player was ripping shit up playing those sweet lines I would never think of with such great tone. Looked at the album notes, and I see,

Organ: Jimmy Smith
Guitar: Kenny Burrell
Drums: Grady Tate

Fuck me. It was then I realized that Jimmy Smith was a wizard, and a B3 player is easily one of the greatest things in music.
