Putting a blue instagram filter over your food doesn't make it more tantilizing.

Hell, I have a lot of pictures of food; I love taking pictures of food. They aren't very perfect or pretty, and I take them with my phone, but I got in a habit of doing it because then I'd see the picture and be like, "Hey, that doesn't look half bad, you aren't completely incompetent!" and it would make me more excited about cooking, which I need to be because of my relatively strict diet. And it all has tasted good so far, ultimately all that matters.

Actually, yeah, I have bacon with a few recipes (though I prefer to oven cook it and often don't feel like it).
Check it: http://www.reddit.com/r/keto
http://www.reddit.com/help/faqs/keto

I've lost 32 pounds so far sticking to it, without any exercise, which is good progress given some health conditions I have. I fuck it up every once in a while (usually on accident or lacking willpower) but I've been pretty strict for a while now and plan on sticking to it. I eat less than 5 carbs a day, which means I DON'T EAT ANYTHING FUN.

I hate when I hear stories about weight loss when they throw in "without any exercise" just sounds dumb.

Since the brain needs glucose to function, this type of diet (if taken to the extreme) forces the body to resort to gluconeogenesis to survive. This will lower your metabolism and be counter-productive to losing weight in general.

I'm obviously not a professional, but, generally, when people look to carbs as the first nutrient on the chopping block to cut out of their diet I try to encourage them to do more research on nutrition in general.

Oh, it's totally a valid concern. I did a lot of reading into it because I have very high insulin resistance and I haven't been too worried about gluconeogenesis ATM. I chose the diet based on specific research involving women with my condition and a variety of different proposed methods of weight loss, and ultimately it's seemed pretty much unanimous that low carb is one of the only ways it's going to work. One statement I saw was like "Oh, the average person stores 1/4 of the carbs they eat and burns the other 3/4th. But your body sucks, so you store 3/4 and only burn 1/4. Get fucked." And, like I said, so far it has been working well, I actually feel I have more energy than before.

I only mentioned that I haven't exercised because I just don't. I work from home at my computer, play on my computer and sleep all the time. When I was seeing a personal trainer 3x a week and was meticulously counting calories, I barely saw any difference. Not that it doesn't work for some people, just not really for me apparently. Not without a radical diet change, at least. I barely eat (<600 calories a day, yes I know that's unhealthy) but if I eat the wrong stuff, I gain instantly. I do have a pretty rad treadmill I should be using, though. :(

It's definitely not for anyone, but no harm in asking a doctor if you're not sure. More are starting to acknowledge the benefits of a low carb diet, as long as you do it right (I take a multivitamin and some supplements etc).

I am also really biased because it makes me feel better about myself. ;)

ALSO, more food pictures. I know some of you guys eat!
