I don't usually make posts on natf2 but I figured this is something worth sharing.

So late last night I was up playing LoL with a few friends when I saw "Bloodsire" add me. I instantly accepted and this was the conversation that went down.

Quantic bLdsre is now Offline.

I first noticed that community was spelled wrong and it was followed by .16mb and it just seemed hella shady to me. He deleted me as soon as I said that I'm not an idiot and changed his name, he now goes under the alias "Tom [Kevin Rudd]" on Steam. His link to profile is: http://steamcommunity.com/id/dxz12124s/

So if you guys get an add from somebody who you think you may know, be aware that there are some people out there like this being complete low life faggots trying to steal your account info. Don't be fooled folks, just thought I would share.

I had the same thing happen yesterday - but it wasn't from bloodsire lol. Apparently, a group of Russians have made themselves a page that looks very similar to the steam page and are just browsing about for people with lots of friends and then using the second account schtick to try and steal your account (which happens if you attempt to log into that website).

I changed my password just to be extra safe lol.

I reported the account that was used to steam - as well as the website (since I assume the hosting company is legitimate, and since Russia is beholden to international Copyright laws they'll get it down soon).

I advised him to improve his English grammar :p

My exchange went something like this:

"Hey" - him
"hm?"
"Just adding you from my second account"
"Oh fancy pants"
"Did you see what written about you on the forums: LINK log in forum and go to section off topic "
"Lol - shouldn't I be saying Привет - you need to brush up on your English товарищ!"

*Logged off* lol

LoL "Tom [Kevin Rudd]" was the brother of one of my pub friends a long time ago (he and his brother used the same account, my friend being "Will [Kevin Rudd]"), from memory, Tom was some 12 year old css kiddie, so i presume he got hacked or something.

It's just a phishing site. Just don't be a dumbass and fill out your information, supposedly valve fixed the vulnerability in the steam browser that allowed javascript in the steam browser to make automated trades without your knowledge, but I still wouldn't do something dumb like open it in the steam browser though.

Watch yourself when it comes to the steam browser. Don't open links in that shit, just say no. Valve is pretty bad at XSS security issues.

So I decided to do a little experiment.

Step 1. Make steam account

Step 2. Activate steam guard.

Step 3. Put dat tf2 on there

Step 4. Place assortment of hats and metal in there

Step 5. utilize secondary old e-mail (in case they'd try to hack the email)

Step 6. enter information of new account in website

Step 7. steam guard "attempted login from new pc/browser"

oopps looks like steamguard just fuxed you up. Items are still in place. Seems its nothing more complicated than trying to get your PW.

When there are hats that sell for hundreds, sometimes thousands it makes sense.
This guy added me last night under 'stermy' :/

Also, I don't know what going on in this thread, but I just saw the new Edge shaving gel commercial. Their slogan is "Get the Edge." I'm a bit upset about it.
