So...this has probably been thought of already, but I was wondering if it would be possible to make a TF2 gambling website based on in-game inventories and competitive matches (but it could expand to UGC too, http://www.badum-tish.com/). Someone thought of it on reddit and I was wondering if y'all had already thought of something like this.

I personally would be super interested in getting a project like this started, but I have no expertise, so I couldn't do it alone lol.

With the stats that competitive matches create it would be totally possible to create a TF2 Fantasy league where you, as the "sponsor," can draft your team from the current ESEA, ETF2L and UGC rosters. Though that's playing a game based on the game, instead of playing the game...

Yeah, and I'm thinking that we'd bet tf2 items. I'd gladly take 25:1 odds of ducks>flow betting like 1 wep on it. Also, this way real money doesn't get tangled up in it, and it's just shuffling around steam backpacks. The only problem I'd see is getting valve to help out (since one wouldn't do 1 on 1 trades for this system), and I think the best way to do it is to make a trusted third party (whether that's a bookie or a client) that you give your items to when you make a bet, then it redistributes them when the results are out.

I think that would be really really fun personally and could help get casual players into competitive, since there's a vast trading community, and competitive needs more people watching games, it'd be a win-win.

No betting on your own matches. That ought to be fairly obvious.

I've been tinkering with it, but I ran into a bit of trouble and I've been busy with exams. I plan on working on it once my exams are over though

On this arena server I used to frequent, we were gambling hats with spycrab gambling. I decided to take part cause I was bored.

Somehow I walked away winning everything.
