I hope you have fun in college stampeed. Though if you have any doubts about this decision you should always come back to see what it's like. People move on though, just remember to do what you have fun with! |

I thought playing as much TF2 as I did would only lead to terrible things, but then it helped me get a job. For serious. Playing on a team, coming up with strategies, and just being able to work with people in high-pressure situations takes a lot of dedication and commitment. People you'll meet in your near future want to see how you handle your hobbies and how you use them in your life, so you should be proud of it. Game studios I spoke to recommended that I put my comp work and writing on my resume, and to my absolute shock, it helped. College is a big step, so you may want to ease up on video games just for the first semester or two until you get a feel of your general workload. Some people can manage work and a dozen hobbies, other people can't. Take it easy at first until you've settled in and know how much free time you can spare for gaming. Maybe you can play 2 hours every night, but you won't know that until you've started your classes. You'll discover a lot about yourself anyway, and don't miss up on a chance to go out and meet new people every so often. I waited until my last 2 years of university to start getting more social, and I wish I had done it a bit sooner. twitter.com/TeamFortressTV |

There's no shame in wanting to be good at something. It doesn't particularly matter if that something is guitar, basketball, coordinated jazz running, or tf2. Everyone has their peculiar interests, and the only time wasted on them is the time spent without gaining or working toward proficiency. If you like tf2 and want to be good at tf2, don't let silly things like other people's preconceived notions of worth and value stop you. |

I love a late night of boredom that leads me to read the always entertaining NA TF2 forums. I wish you the best of luck big Stampeed! Remember that college (especially a big university) is full of terminal preppies, idiotic frat boys, extremely slutty girls (ass to mouth slutty), and a complete mix of people that will make you question their existence. I quit as my line of work went to a completely random schedule and it was at the perfect time when I started to find the game really dry and stale. I will never regret playing tf2 for the amount of time I did but remember to always go with your gut feeling and don't doubt it since it's your decision that you will live with. I can personally tell you that quitting tf2 is most likely the best thing that could of happened to me in the past 2 months as I now replaced it with biking and playing other games casually (Diablo 3 in 2 days!!!). I have also met more people after quitting but it's not exactly a good thing since it reinforced my view of the world being dominated by idiots and that we will eventually die from our own arrogance. |

Or they would be forced to learn social skills which are incredibly valuable when you grow up and you have to interact with people in your job environment. |

Social skill needed in the workplace 1. Be nice, smile, don't let people know what you think of them
how to operate in most jobs, learned from my parents with their shitty middle class jobs. If you can do those basic social things you can hold a job if your work is decent. It also may help that I basically am a robot. god, people... they are just so damn sure of themselves aren't they. |

actually we will all eventually die when the entropy of the universe disallows the formation of new stars and everything gets really fucking cold. or maybe when robots take over the world. |

best lay better than best tf2 match, but not by as big a margin as best tf2 match was better than worst lay the thing with sex at least to my mind is i can have a good orgasm with my hand cost 0bux and 0 time/effort what makes sex good and worth pursuing for me isnt the physical act itself, it's the intimacy and emotional connection to another human being i would much rather have an amazing gf who i was totally into and fuck her than play tf2, but i honestly would rather play comp tf2 than go out and try to pick up a one night stand and of course in an ideal world we'd all be doin both (tf2 and gurls, not gf and sloots) |
