If you know you have 2 matches to play in a week, would you want to schedule your first match on the last available day for most people, then forcing yourself and everyone else to fight for a slot on an earlier day when your second matches come up for schedule.

If this is your first season of ESEA it's understandable you're still new, but honestly, use Monday to Wednesday for your first match so you at least have a day left for your second one.

PS. esea please get more fucking servers, it's pretty sad there's no servers left for next Thursday already.

My team chooses to play our first match wednesday or thursday so we have at least two dasy to scrim, practice, and prepare for the match. But thats just us.

But yeah, with the huge amount of open teams, ESEA should really get more servers.

The later, the better both teams are prepared which usually results in a more entertaining match.

I understand wanting more time to scrim, that's why I always try to have our first match on Wednesday, and if we have too, Tuesday. But if you schedule your first match on Thursday, when do you expect to play your second match? On the weekend?? Because you know Wednesday is going to be fully booked long before that second match even comes up for schedule, you end up forcing yourself to play even earlier or on the weekend.

I'd think after 5 or 6 seasons people would have caught on to this by now.

The match schedules are customizable for a reason. You have 2 matches a week no matter what, what is the difference which one comes first? There is none.

It also could've been the only day they were able to make it.

ya only being bale to play 1 day a week would be rough. ESEA doesn't even have enough servers for more then 1 team to do a double header on Thursday, sadly.

Like I said, you book yourself for Thursday, and when your second match comes up, Wednesday is already FULL. Soo you're stuck with Tuesday, earlier or on the weekend. It's illogical to trap yourself into an early match when you wanted more time to scrim.

None of this would be an issue if we had more servers to work with... There's a bunch of east and west coast servers not even being used those nights, would be nice if they are int he selection list.

Sometimes there's no servers left, not even dreaded TX.

If you guys want to see more server options available please post your support here;

http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=forums&d=topic&id=405450&find_comment_number=2#n2

I've had support tickets in for more servers or to load up the central ones for a few seasons now, yes I'm one of the guys that's pestered ESEA support for extra servers season after season, and it's worked up until this season. However this is the first time they have not responded with more servers or switching some coastal ones to central.

I always try to schedule for Monday - you get a few days in and really if your team cant string something together after a few scrims you need more help than 2 additional days is going to provide.

I still like thursday for the second match because it keeps my weekend free - but I've taken to throwing shit on Friday nights when I can because I have no life and don't care.

How is somebody retarded for scheduling their "first" match on Thursday?

Possible scenario: Team A can't play Tuesday, team B can't play Wednesday.
Possible solution: Play the game on Thursday.

You can schedule both games during the week at the same time. It's not "retarded" to schedule the first one later in the week; it's not like you have to play it before the second one.

No you can't. The first match becomes available 2 days before the other match. If you want an Illinois server(like most people by the look of things) you need to schedule within a few hours of it becoming available to schedule.

Yes in this situation it's ok, I wouldn't argue with that, but it's not the normal situation and people don't start off requesting Thursday in that case, it normally goes through a few rejects first.

I removed my use of the word "retarded" because I was just ranting and it probably came off as rather insulting.

The issue isn't the scheduling it's the lack of servers.

little known fact: if you can't find a server for a particular day, talk to an admin and they can schedule it so as soon as another team finishes a match, you get that server

like, because you cant use a server within an hour and a half of a match, I think a lot of servers for matches at like 10 or 10:30 just don't get used afterwards, so it shouldn't be too hard to get an Illinois or Texas

ESEA brings in literally hundreds of thousands of dollars each year with their league fee's, they can afford to buy a few more shitty servers to play on.

I agree, none of this would be an issue if there was enough servers for everyone to play, and even have a couple of double headers.

59 Open teams, 16 IM, 8 invite.. At least 6 players paid on each team. League fee's vary depending on division but for arguments sake lets say around $10 each player just for league fee, then 7 a month for premium per player. Around $115 per player for the year goes to ESEA for fee's. Each team provides at least $690 a year (if only 6 are paid, could be more with backups.) x 83 teams just for TF2 alone.. $57,270 at the least a year just from TF2 which is one of the smaller communities. Imagine CS's income.

Get more servers please!

ive said this a ton of times, but we need to do more with esea to prove that we're WORTH getting more servers. i've never, ever had an issue scheduling a match at any time/location when i played css because they had a larger community that PUGGED nonstop on client. we need to let pugna die completely and pug exclusively on esea, then we'll have more servers/recognition from esea as a legitimate investment.

how would the existing playerbase who already pays for esea pugging more show that investing in tf2 is a better business decision?

Who actually ESEA PUGs for TF2? If we made that into an actual thing that would be awesome. As an new Open player, I know for a fact that literally no one I've talked to (about 30 other new Open players kind of regularly since we all PUG together) no one in our group PUGs on ESEA.

It's just a nonexistent feature as far as new Open TF2 players go...

Maybe if someone explained how to do ESEA PUGs and how they work people would actually do them?

The same thing kind of applies to pugna, but people are willing to teach new to pugna players how to get on IRC and all that jazz. But at the same time, I've definitely gotten the feeling that not all TF2 players and community members want to grow the 6v6 scene, whereas HL is a lot more accessible (and that has nothing to do with the format itself IMO).

That was the nice thing about the other pug channel, forget the name now...Anyways, it allowed new and lower open players to play with a few "better" players to help them along their game. Bring it back please :P
