A lot of people are interested in bringing back the #tf2.pug channel. For those who weren't around at the time, it was just like #tf2.pug.na except slots were limited to one player per class and teams were automatically picked. A lot like Tf2lobby, but less team stacking.

I'm going to be modifying the bot to work with these rules again and try to revive the channel. This can be our way of helping new players who want to play in #tf2.pug.na get into the scene, because it's difficult to get picked in the current setup.

In order for this to work, we have to do some things better than Tf2Lobby, or the channel will suffer the same fate. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please voice them.

Thanks! I'll be starting work on the new bot today, and hopefully it will be done this weekend.

I wasn't around for #tf2.pug, but this sounds very interesting. As for being "better" than TF2Lobby, I'm not sure that's possible with IRC. The graphical interface appeals too much to most players.

Graphical interface = less thinking. Either way, I would probably enjoy #tf2.pug. I'm honestly pretty sick of Tf2lobby. too many people trying to ruin the aspect of "fun" for literally everyone. A few days ago, I joined a lobby and the other team was running two medics. /ragequit

I think it would be good to persuade some of the higher level/active pug.na players to also play on this upcoming channel.

That way unknown people (like me :D) would start sounding familiar to those players, and more likely to be picked in pug.na.

Though to be honest, I think requiring players to be in Mumble would already make it miles better than TF2Lobby.

We'll try not to steal badlands from you next time. Seriously though, it's the same part of Badlands but not the same screenshot. Ours has a higher field of view or something, just look at the "BLU INDUSTRIES" sign for reference.

#tf2.pug will be much different than last time. We have a lot of great things lined up for the channel but other ideas are always great :)

When pingu finishes the bot I'll announce a couple of things with #tf2.pug. Should be great for all the up and coming players to get their feet wet in the competitive scene.

I would be super interested in #tf2.pug. Tf2 lobbies are boring/too easy. Also, no comms ever.

I'm gonna disagree with kirby and say that the extra, superfluous stats do no harm and are occasionally fun to look at

Probably the best thing you can do for it is to actually ban people for blatantly fucking off, that's the main problem with tf2lobby. I don't think flame has banned a single person. I'm not saying ban every dumbass that plays, but at least give people a reason to not be a dumbass.
