civ 5 is a great introduction to the series. pick it up.

the GOTY edition is useless unless you really want to play as korea or some shit and want some crappy single-player scenarios.

I own and played civ 4 for quite a while until civ 5 came out, then nobody wanted to play it anymore :(. and i never ended up buying civ 5

I liked the culture stuff better in Civ 4, but the combat better in Civ 5.

army stacks are OP in civ 4. Civ 5 takes a lot of strat or your whole shit gets wiped. Too bad it slows down the game a bunch. And too bad this great game takes like 6 fucking hours to finish one campaign
