most everything is in the title...

i continually find myself in this situation where i'm browsing netflix and can't seem to find anything that looks worthwhile. i daresay i've already seen alot of the good ones, but i'm doubtful. so feel free to say it if it's good and on here; i probably haven't seen it...

only now am i regretting not watching inside job or Casablanca when it was around...

Try using the searches on Feedfliks. I mostly use my streaming account to watch TV shows, but there are a lot of good cult movies hidden on Netflix. There are decent enough filters on Feedfliks to find something interesting; brometheus' list is pretty good.

Once you start watching movies of your interest, it should start creating useful enough categories for recommendations; my category list is pretty precise but generally weird as hell. Right now, I have "Critically-acclaimed Dark Sci-Fi & Fantasy," "Witty British TV Shows," "Cult Comedies," "Violent Independent Movies," etc. Try tweaking your Taste Preferences and see if it tosses some good suggestions at you, as well!

hobo with a shotgun has no redeeming qualities and is so awful that somehow not having any redeeming qualities itself manages to not be a redeeming quality

If you like documentaries, Being Elmo was really good. Documentaries ate always good to kill time and learn about things you're interested in.

Being Elmo was awesome. There are some other pretty interesting documentaries on there; Cosmos, Ken Burns' The War, Freakonomics, etc. If you get super bored there's always a ton of categorized TEDTalks.

Also, I realized I'm useless and didn't actually suggest movies so uh, go watch The Iron Giant, Pi, Clockwork Orange, Clerks and GHOSTBUSTERS.
