Here's my situation. I want to watch movies/etc on my TV from my PC. I want to connect my PC to my TV with an HDMI cable. I will be going through my gfx card(gtx560ti). Does HDMI from the gfx card carry audio as well? Or do I need to have a separate cable go from the rear jack panel to the TV for sound? Or is there another method that is cheaper and easier?

Thanks for reading this.

Got it working thanks everyone.

Is your tv HDMI audio too? If so, you should be fine.

What FZero said. HDMI out -> HDMI in and you're probably fine. Works with my 3 year old laptop into my 4 year old TV!

yeah, it's pretty standard now that you get audio from it as well. although, if your 560ti is anything like mine, it most likely has a MINIhdmi port that won't fit a regular hdmi cable so check and see if you need to buy an adapter.

Yes I have an mini -> reg. HDMI adapter.

What I've been struggling with is no sound on my TV. Picture is excellent, just no sound.

Sadly, a few older TV's have HDMI picture only...it's really fucking wierd
