pretty sure the iphone 5 will come out by the end of this year. if you're anti-apple or whatever, i believe the one x is marginally better than the galaxy s3.

Samsung Galaxy S2.

Really better than the iphone. Of course people will disagree so I recommend checking both out yourself!

iPhone 4s hasnt given me a problem yet. And if you get one then you should get an Otter Box to protect it, since iPhones are so fragile.
I put my iPhone on the back bumper of my stepdads Toyota Forerunner, and he shut the trunk door down on it. The door was stuck shut after closing it, so we had to use a pry bar to lift the door just high enough to slide the phone out. The otter box was demolished but the phone didnt have a scratch on it. Otter box may be pricey but was worth it in my case

The US model of the Galaxy S 3 does not have a quadcore either (this is because these phones come with LTE equipped processors, for which the processor has to be slightly sacrificed). What gives the one-x the edge for me is the better screen, but the S3's screen is no slouch either and is still one sleek gadget.

The only reason reason to get a blackberry is if you work in business or politics. Having a keyboard is really helpful when writing an email.

I feel like I'd be able to type equally as well once I got used to an iPhone.

you should really just go to your local at&t store (or whatever provider you have) and look at some of the phones, they let you pretty much do whatever you want on them and they should be knowledgeable about them.

Get a galaxy s2, the screen is much bigger and looks x10 better than the iphone and you can have a lot more customization to it if you're into that shit. I have one and my mom has an iphone 4, it makes the iphone look like a joke considering how similar they're priced.

You may feel that way, but test it out fairly. Either be used to both or not used to either. After my last political job I went from a BB to a HTC, while my wife said with a newer BB. I can still type 35-40 words a minute vs about 25 on me, this is even after 3 years on a touchscreen.

I understand that this means very little to a lot of people here, but it helps to those that need to write emails while on the go, not like 100 words but full explanation emails.

What sized phone are you looking for? Something people haven't mentioned is that the galaxy is huge (I own one) when compared to most phones.
