Do any soldiers use binds to help them rocket jump or ctap? I'm just curious as I think I might work on ctapping and my config over the offseason.

Do people have bind recommendations that made their lives easier? The best advice I heard was moving crouch to shift, that fits the hand so much better.

While I do use shift for duck, I can't ducktap using my keyboard to duck. Instead I have mouse2 bound to duck, so I can move from right to left with my button hitting which makes more sense to my brain for some reason.

Mouse2 -> Mouse1 -> Space done in rapid succession will usually result in a ducktap for me. I only use mouse2 for ducktaps, all other ducking I do with shift.

I use a crouch jump script so I have room to put the scoreboard on shift for super-easy checking.

Crouch to shift is the most common one. I don't use any scripts but I have crouch bound to my mouse4 key, or basically the back button on the side of my mouse. It takes a while to get used to(I've been using it forever) but makes it so I can concentrate more on my movement, only having to press space with my thumb instead of shift/space with my left hand. It's all down to preference though, whatever feels comfortable to you.

I know it's going to sound weird but I actually binded my mouse 2 to jump and my left shift to duck. I find it easier to perform quick jumps

what does the script help with here that's specific to the dropdown jump? the dropdown jump is the same as any other vertical rocket jump once you line up the positioning; you just look straight down and jump + duck + shoot

his particular script actually uses HUD elements to adjust player position slightly based on the location of the little health pack that is near by. You just get yourself close and hit the script. The player model wil align with the hole and jump straight up into it.

I was there.

You also use the same process to clip inside certain walls as scout.

memorize the spot on the ceiling to put your crosshair and the direction in which you look. Push rj button to perform the jump. all the script is is the typical jump+crouch+shoot script that some people use.

I never use it otherwise, but its very efficient for getting the jump perfect for up dropdown.

practice it a few times; you usually line up crosshair in middle of dropdown and then edge over to the right (or left with lefthand viewmodels, not needed at all with Original now) ever so slightly. that slightly part comes with just feeling out your jumps

actually kinda useful for pushing a tight 2nd hold by sending roamer up there and having the two scouts ready to go in left when the soldier makes a commotion in lunchbox. it doesn't fail often but that's because i guess most teams don't watch for it since it's pretty silly
