That's a pretty attractive deal your offering, I may buy one and see if its actually a quality server. Your competing with tragicservers he offers 10 bucks a month but only on 12 slot servers, however he provides servers from NFO so people are already aware that they are quality. May I suggest putting up a public example server?

You can test it out if you like Redban. I own a TF2 community, http://dexndes.com , I know how it feels to buy server sand what they are truly worth. Well, I price them at what I believe they are worth. They shouldn't be pricey because of the slots, they should be cheap because of the low resources they use.

I joined the test server and at first it had stutter but after my steam loadout came back the server was fine.

Sparrow also joined and we did some DM'ing and it seemed to be of quality. We then went to my server which is chicago and from discoutgameservers the ping for me was about 10 worse than the ember server surprisingly.

After DM'ing on my server for a bit sparrow thought the ember servers was a bit better, but I didn't notice a difference. We have been using our server to scrim for a long time and havent gotten any complaints, so I think that boads will for the ember server.

I am going to buy an ember server for a month to give it a real test when we scrim on it a few times. Once we do that I'll post back here again, hopefully I don't waste 5 dollars.

Also I should note that dwellingdragon added me after my first post; He seems like a legitimate guy from our short conversation.

And capped at 500FPS. FPS and server tick are not the same.

I just rented myself a pubserver for my youtube channel. I'm still getting used to TCAdmin and all that but so far I have nothing bad to say about it. Ember is new, so there are bound to be a few things to tweak. I get good ping on the server as well.

I still have some more testing to do since I just got myself a server but it's been really good so far. I'm currently uploading my own maps since it only comes with official maps (as of now) and tweaking my own configs.

Not much else to say except the few lag spikes here and there, but apparently that's because Ember is still optimizing files and other stuff.

So in short: I'm satisfied with what I have so far. Great deal, good server and willing to stay with Ember if the service stays like it is now.

Hehe, if I were to be honest, I'd buy from Tragic if you are looking for the HIGHEST quality server possible. His servers are unmatchable. He is a great manager as well, like he said, I do have one of his servers, I've never had a complaint.

The Demo Server, which is actually Shlaner's server he is just willing to let people hop in and out for now, was down because it was restarted in order to update Sourcemod/Metamod. It is live again.

The price will never change from $10.00 per month for any Source Server (Unless a promotion code is used of course). The maximum number of slots is 32 [You can only select 24 while setting up the server, but contacting support and asking for a boost up will be no problem at all, it'll take about 2 minutes].

Hah, I've heard that 300 times since I started this, 2 days ago.

I own a community, dexndes.com, I know how expensive servers are. Frankly, and I'm proving it, they do not need to be that expensive. They don't need to be priced based on slots, or if it's public or not. They need to be priced based around the fact that Source Servers are VERY optimized, and use minimal resources when using high end hardware.

alright since I have bought the server i have yet to be able to log into the control panel. The client area of the site is super fucking slow and I cant accomplish anything and haven't been able to for about a day now. I asked him about this and he said it's because he needed to re-install tcadmin. I'll keep everyone posted if it gets better or worse.

We actually just recently upgraded from TCAdmin 1.0 > Tcadmin 2.0. So that is why there was a major downtime. Everything is function, if you checked the announcements you would have seen the downtime. We have an official Test Server now as well:

If everybody chooses 24 slots, we are going to host only 10 servers on each box. We have 2 standby servers of exact hardware as the Master Server, so we will fire them up once we get more customers.

The forums are not yet installed. We are looking into a forum software as of now. Checkout page does not have an error page now, could have been a cookie/cache problem. I'd clear those in your browser settings and try again :).

is there a possibility to make it so you can run with stock FPS/tickrate? I'm reading an info thing on my nfoservers control panel and it says they're both locked to 66.66.

Please note that Valve forces all Orangebox-engine servers to a tickrate and FPS of 66.66 (our Linux servers have an FPS Locker to make sure that this is maintained as closely as possible). You are welcome to override this with a plugin, if you wish, but we do not recommend it: our explanation.
http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4627

FPS is the simulation rate and the tickrate is how quickly it sends/recieves network messages.

That's probably the reason that the stock interpolation is 100 ms, it negates the jitter that arrives from having a 40/30/20 client tickrate and a 66.66... server tickrate.
