Recently came upon this artist, Professor Kliq. I would put it in the same genre as RJD2 although it is quite different.
Good music to listen to while TF2ing

Not even relatively close to RJD2 at all. The only similarity I can pick up is that Professor Kliq and RJD2 are both technically music. |

I wasn't really sure what to classify RJD2 under, so I thought this would be the next closest thing to him.

I think it's like RJD2 because it's usually absent of true vocals and uses samples of real instruments with synth beats. This is less jazz and hip hop and more electro funk and faster paced. I wasn't saying they're identical, I trying to say something like "If you like RJD2, you might like this too". Tight butthole in this forum lol. Sorry to those I offended.
That's a good idea but I was just sharing this single artist that I thought people might like, not trying to start a genre thread per se. Last edited: Sat, 23 Jun 2012, 05:28am by SHOCK |

This genre is often called trip-hop, turntablism (sometimes), instrumental hip hop, lounge, acid jazz (sometimes), or jazz-hop. DJ Cam, Force Of Nature, Tsutchie, Damu the Fudgemunk, Bonobo, Fat Jon, Blockhead, Tokimonsta, DJ Frane, and Free the Robots are a few of my most listened. There's a LOT of it out there, way more than I could ever listen to. TBH I got bored of the genre quick, but I don't think it's my thing. |
