18000 of those are from a charity stream to help the firefighters in CO, but hot damn. TF2 is currently the second-most-watched game on twitch right now, and I have a feeling that it's going to be #1 over the weekend, which means even more now that twitch has their "browse" function because the first thing people will see when they click it will be our game.

I'm gettin' all tingly inside, guys. This could be the break we need, and would be an amazing leadup to i46. This weekend is going to be unbelievable, and even though I'm in norcal for the rest of the summer and can't play, I'll be leaving the ESEA lan stream on all day tomorrow and sunday.

The winds of fortune are blowing our way, gentlemen. It feels good.

There were 28,000 people watching L4d2 just before that, and when they swapped games its down to 33 people watching the game (across 5 streams). wouldn't get your hopes up.

Fishstix was on the Extv stream awhile ago.

We tried to get him to feature TF2 on the front page, but I don't think it worked. :<

I don't remember exactly what game was being casted, but he showed up and chatted a bit. I think he mentioned something about Pwnage.tv or that other one I forgot the name of.

We told him he should feature TF2 on the front page of Twitch, but I don't remember how he replied to that.

God I'm so dissappointed I won't be able to follow the LAN streams with mediocre Internet but this is definitely good news.

We averaged like 2200-2500 viewers concurrently today. Total for the day was around 200,000. I don't know how the other streams did but we didn't dip under 2000 until the last match and even then we were over 1500 the whole time.

I don't mean to be a downer, but we got about ten donors over the course of the whole weekend, which is a bit of a shame. The casters were plugging it dutifully but the conversion rate just wasn't high.

I like how ESEA always is dick riding CS yet not only do they not get the viewers now, the last time they went to Europe they got crushed while NA TF2 stands a good chance to go toe-to-toe with the Euros

Fair point, however tf2 earns its viewers by showing interesting content and competitive games, not by whining about imbalance and being a smug low level NA player

Right now it's all about sustained growth. TF2 has never had Starcraft- or LOL-level viewership. It doesn't just appear out of nowhere, and without Valve support for competitive TF2 it's up to us to build the viewer base. Make no mistake, it's building, and next weekend's event will also have Twitch frontpage status. Converting some of those viewers to streams like Pyyyour's and Lange's will be huge for retaining and growing the viewerbase for comp TF2. Very happy to hear Lange got a big boost!

eXtv is putting together a blog post with this weekend's viewership stats and reach. Help us tweet/shout this at sponsors and get them to take a second look at the growth comp TF2 can achieve.
