This website is awesome. It's like a family tree of electronic music with GOOD examples of each genre.

This tells you all about electronic music and its origins including hip-hop, turntablism, drum and bass, hardcore techno, trance, house, EVERYTHING. You WILL find some very interesting history.

If you ever feel like you can't find enough music, check this out. Find something that you think sounds good. Explore.

The person who made this has also written his opinion on almost every genre. I think I can agree with everything he said.

I love this site, it's quite helpful to try to pinpoint the genre of specific songs. Maybe, with a bit more plugging of this site everywhere, we can finally rid people of the habit of calling everything electro just because it has some "bleeps and bloops" and synths.

Ten years old, but still a great resource.

I'm a pretty big house-head and I agree with all of his house distinctions.

I REALLY like the whole site setup and essential gateway into the varying genres, but the author as a person is making me angry. I've read almost every single one, and am almost positive this guy is a damn hipster.

EDIT: I love the site, just not some of his opinions.

The whole thing is a big joke. Don't take him seriously.

I wish he would update it... It'd be nice to see how dubstep has evolved from it's UK roots to the abomination it is today.

This reminds me of when I first started listening EM through DDR and similar games, mostly JPOP and Eurobeat. I think my favourite group was Perfume who are still releasing quality singles today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kWFGTH8K5g&hd=1

it hasn't really evolved as much as branched out, electronic music is much easier to create today and more mainstream thanks to that which leads to many bad things obviously but there is still quality to be found, even more so than a decade ago, just need to know how to look around.

Hardcore sub page isn't much accurate. I've been listening to hardcore techno for about 20 years and never heard term "Gabber House". Not to mention that Gabber developed from Detroit techno and not Rave.
Whole hardcore page is actually weird and needs heavy fixing.
