From reading the comments, many people are saying their computer cannot run the game. Someone should tell them about chris's fps config (I don't have youtube account).

Or if there is a website or youtube link that has all the things someone can do to improve their fps in this game, that would be better.

I'm not trying to derail this topic but I feel this is a good place to say it. If decent players go back to playing TF2Lobby not only does the "average" level of skill go up, but the decent players can(and should) give tips and tricks(i.e. not shit talk, not have a muted mic/audio, not play sniper the whole game) to help out the presumably newer players that come to TF2Lobby to learn the basics of 6v6/highlander. I haven't played lobbies in forever, but now I kinda feel bad. From what I understand it's been abandoned by almost all the decent players that used to play there. If the only people playing are new it's going to take MUCH longer for them to get better, and it gives them a much larger window to dismiss competitive TF2 as a stupid community of trolls and idiots. /rant

Agreed. This is also why swiper, tragic, thrill, and I make no off classing lobbies. It forces those kids to actually play normal 6's classes and to get roflstomped by our glorious stacking. Just kidding. Even though we often play on the same team we are all shitty and the outcome is unpredictable.

I don't think Tragic told you, but that is not the reason why he originally disallowed offclassing in his lobbies...

That's not why swiper/tragic doesn't allow offclassing/unlocks, it's also a really bad idea in this case. One of the most common complaints pub players have about competitive TF2 is they think it bans everything and that the offclasses are never used. Showing them that kind of gameplay is misleading, and would probably turn these people away by confirming their doubts.

Well you can speak in probablys all day long but you don't actually know what a lobby without off classing is like until you play one. I play about 10 a day because I am a nerd. Yes people join the server and almost immediately realize it by saying "wtf why can't u snipe" but after that initial complaint no one says a word and the game is much more enjoyable for everyone. The games are far less slow and turtley, and they also better exhibit the flows and patterns of 6's play especially on push maps. There really is no reason anyone should off class if they are new to lobbies. Yes it can be fun and certain classes have their place, but these new players are not stable judges of those if/when situations. It honestly helps them more to learn how to play the standard classes, even if they don't know it, and even if you still don't believe it.

They should learn the ins out and outs of classes and their abilities before 6v6, yes. But to ban offclasses is retarded. Allow them and let them see how rolling heavy to mid causes mid to be lost due to someone not making it there in time. The only correct use of restricting a person playing a class is if they are doing it to troll and not to learn or experience what useful qualities said class has in a 6v6. Ban huntsman, allow sniper in other words.

Also dear god find something better to do than preaching the gospel of the almighty tragicserver and their location based behind heavens gate's up in the blu sky in lobbies

Hey guys,

Thanks for the support. Most communities aren't very grateful for stuff. This is one of the reasons I love TF2. There's lots of assholes, but there's alot more passionate people that are willing to work to grow the community. That's why I appreciate it so much.

I used to play competitively with Lost Peripherals gaming in Cevo-O as well as do a fair amount of pub stomping on Source OP. After LpG died I started playing with DCSB. Some of you guys that are familiar with the EU scene will know of these guys. Quite good players.

I've been on and off for a long time with TF2, but I hopped into Lang and SeanBud's streams and it set something off inside of me.

I don't really focus on youtube much anymore, as I work at TwitchTV and my time is limited. However, TF2 needs more time in the spotlight, and that's what I'm going to attempt to do.

I'd like to organize some community nights with top players where we can all just lock down a server and bring in some guys that may be interested in competitive TF2 and show them why it's so fantastic. If any of you guys are interested in this, please let me know.

Sorry for the late responses to some of your youtube messages. I have a billion messages on youtube consisting of "add me on xbl luv ur vids!" etc - so I rarely check them. Best to tweet me @johnsfatcock or PM on here, probably.

Also dicks.
