#15 That is a really cool movie but I agree, english dubs make foreign (and particularly Asian) movies plumb awkward.

I often find myself spending more time searching for a decent movie on Netflix than I do actually watching one. I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where people can list movies they've recently watched that they thought were good; that way, we can all spend less time sorting through all the worthless watch instantly movies available, and just get to the good stuff. I recently watched:
Those were all pretty decent. Out of those four, The Grey was probably the best. Maybe cause I'm from Alaska, maybe cause it's eerie as fuck. |

Actually, I'm quite sure that FOX would LOVE to show you that video...if they wouldn't get sued by the FCC, or lose a large number of their viewers due to other news corps slamming them constantly. You see, controversy, it sells. FOX is very good at controversy. They may not be very good at actual news or anything, but by god they know how to make people watch their show and keep them entertained. I'm honestly pretty positive that the people who run fox news don't give a shit about how sensitive a suicide on live tv is, and if they wouldn't get in trouble, they would play that car chase all day long for two weeks straight, milking the views out of it to the last drop. |

I once worked at an Audi dealership for a few years. Over the time I worked there, the security/blocking of websites became increasingly bad. I remember one of the tricks I did was searching for websites I wanted in google, and then viewing the cache of that page, that sometimes worked if I really wanted to do something simple like read texts. What I eventually ended up doing is tethering my phones data connection to my PC at work via USB, which prevented my outgoing requests from going through the network at work at all. I've been rooting my Android phones for years and this is one of the great advantages. |

If this ever happens, I'd like to pitch in on the prize. I'm willing to give away up to like 10 keys, maybe a pair of flops. Seriously, i'm down to help make the prize worth it if this ever happens. |

| Ping randomly higher on some tf2 servers? » |

Gonna go ahead and chime in here. I've noticed similar things happening to my connection to some servers. On a 'good' day, which refers to when my ping is at it's minimum to Dallas and Atlanta servers, the ping is 45-50, and 25-30 respectively. Now, I suppose during 'peak' hours, I know when frames and things are going to be rough because my ping to dallas and atlanta servers goes up to 65-70 and 45-50 respectively. At first I thought it was because of my cable internet and the fact that i'm in the middle of nowhere in Mississippi, and I just have bad luck with shitty wiring and routing etc, and at peak hours traffic was just choking the network. Then I thought it was because a couple of other people in my house share the internet here. THEN I thought that maybe there was some kind of issue with my firewall. What i've concluded is that all these tings are likely (minus the firewall which I've always had disabled actually) the cause but the weird thing is that it even happens during times which are not even close to peak hours and when I have no one else on the internet here at my home. So... yeah, it's weird. |

I would like to take this opportunity to ask you guys this - do you believe that knowing your teammates on a first-real-name basis helps? I personally feel that knowing the actual names of my teammates helps me, as the medic and main caller of my team, to be able to have expectations of them to be real and genuine when it comes to their time spent with the team. Besides, it's much easier to say "chad, come back to me and build" than "sillyaliasman, come back to me and build". It also adds a certain sense of sincere or dire need in tight situations; like I might call someone by their alias outside of scrims most of the time, but in a scrim if I call them by their real name, they know I really need their attention. In general, if you agree with the notion that your teams chance of success depends highly on maintaining a roster with little or no change, knowing your teammates on a somewhat personal level could make your respect for each other grow. I'm still pretty new to comp, but the team I'm on now is still the team I want to be playing with down the road, I cherish the fuck out of my team and the time the guys take to play with me. |

| ESEA servers - granary sliding door glitch » |

I can attest to this as well. Our latest match on a Dallas server, some of us actually did have an upwards of 100ms ping, whereas on our scrim server, also in Dallas, no one is above 50-60. My ping was actully normal, however I couldn't get much more than 30-50 fps, when I normally get >120 :( I swear that something to do with when the ESEA client is running and/or the matches start, my frames go to absolute shit half the time, to a point where I too feel like my ping is skyrocketing, it's really frustrating because it feels like you can't even react to actions in the game even if you try.

Hey guys, I'm just looking for some advice on what to do about a map glitch on the server we played on for our granary match this past Sunday. I don't necessarily want to make a formal complaint or anything (we won lol) but the fact it happened is pretty lame, not to mention when I run the esea client I suddenly get 30 fps :( Anyway, what happened; Basic rollout to mid - but when our demoman got to the second point and tried to go out the sliding door on the left - it opened halfway then closed, then repeated that up and down movement until the rest of our entire team caught up to the door, and for about 2 seconds all of us were standing there and couldn't get out until it opened all the way. We ended up not even going to mid, but ended up winning that round, so it's not a huge terrible thing, but I've never seen it happen before. But I wanted to bring it up here and ask if anyone has experienced something like this before, and if I should report it or just let it go (first time in esea)? |
