An even better combo would be for you to get the Technical Pro HPT990 with a modmic. http://www.amazon.com/Technical-Pro-Professional-Headphones-Controller/dp/B0057CW4UU The HPT990 has a pretty good soundstage and comes with a case. You can get a modmic at modmic.com, but you'll have to wait a few weeks.

Then I guess the USB soundcard wouldn't be too bad of an idea, although I have no idea how good it is. A dedicated sound card would probably destroy it though, so I'd advise you to save up for one of those instead (if you can).
Gaming headsets in general are pretty bad for their price imo |
