i've found that prefacing a statement or order with a player's name is much more effective in getting people to act immediately for example, instead of "someone kill this soldier with me on the left," it's, "pizza, come kill this soldier with me on the left" this shifts responsibility to one person instead of the whole group, which helps with stuff like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffusion_of_responsibility |

OP, should specify a tick in the demo where you think Subliminal is cheating. I watched the demo up until the other scout went afk and didn't see anything that struck me as an aimbot. I think you need more conclusive evidence. The videos of squish are fishy; combining this and what Vortex says, I personally believe he's a compulsive cheater. I'd like to add that UGC is a free league with far fewer resources than a pay-to-play league like ESEA with a dedicated (paid) staff. It has also become increasingly difficult to determine objectively if a player cheats on a case-by-case basis. Around 2004 it was easy for me to spot an aimbot because they were blatent. Often players would use the same shitty aimbot that took a frame or less for the player's crosshair to center on a target. In 2012, I have no idea anymore what an aimbot looks like, and I can assume that they have become as sophisticated in technology as the new games they are created for. I think everyone should continue to make demos of suspicious players available for public scrutiny, but do it in a way that's more detailed and objective. The worst is throwing a demo out into the public and then lacing it with phrases like "shitty aimbot" that make it sound like the party's already guilty. Don't make it a witch hunt. Maybe ask a top invite player for their opinion first. These are players that have played and watched enough TF2 that they are especially receptive to what aimbots feel like to play against. I hope that makes sense. |

A competing forum won't split the community in half. tf.tv will win out in the long run because it has been designed from the ground up to be an all-encompassing TF2 portal, and it does it well. For example, if I hadn't been casually browsing tf.tv, I would never have found the following article: http://www.vanillatf2.org/2012/08/10-reasons-why-americans-will-dominate-i46/ edit: I will say that having a server browser on the side of the NATF2 page has been helpful for connecting to the DM servers. Back in the days of world war CAL, circa 2006, when the NA Warsow scene had more than 15 active dueling players, there was a newbie named Wormyalon. He had appeared out of nowhere - from the void of the internet - wet behind the ears, a newborn delivered to our NA doorstep. I remember how slow he moved and how poor he aimed back then. Those of us who had been playing since 0.21 or earlier could easily best him by wide margins with ease. But he was never discouraged like so many new players before him whose egos could not handle a consistent string of losses. If there was a duel in progress, TAB would always reveal him to be watching, learning, waiting to play, and he was always hungry. Wormy didn't care if you were Lo, nightmare, naymlis, or had beaten him into a pulp the previous duel, he would be up for the challenge again and again. Yes, he was obviously frustrated at times, but he had a passion for the game and a positive attitude. His work ethic was nothing short of impressive, especially in such an obscure game with a decaying population of players. This is where I draw a blank in my recounting of Wormy's progress, since I stopped playing Warsow sometime after the release of 0.3. His work ethic was always the most impressive out of any NA player. I don't remember him ever turning down an opportunity to duel the best, despite getting destroyed over and over again. I realize that this is the cliche story of how enough dedication and hard work can someday bring you to the point of mastering something, but it is an example that is particularly vivid to me. I read your post and had the biggest fucking banana grin on my face, having witnessed first hand how absolutely terrible Wormy was when he started. I'm sure many of the best TF2 players on this board have witnessed the same in this game as well. Just a little drunken story at 3am that I hope any upcoming player or upcoming team takes to heart. |

snake, gully, viaduct and granary have been posted in the OP. I'd consider all of the maps to still be in rough draft form. Eventually I want to save everything in a zip file, so if anyone has some extra time please take a look and see if anything is missing or wrong. |
